Meeting 3
Our third week we will focus on the joy of eating! This week our theme question is - can a lifestyle of eating for health bring as much joy as simply eating for pleasure?
As the group is in process with our January cleanse, we will dive deeper into what foods to eat and how to prepare them for maximum enjoyment. We will also discuss food quality this week, along with looking at the value of Organic options. We will have plenty of time to look at individual food categories and discuss (for example) what dairy options are best and why…offering food for thought in the weeks before adding items that were removed back into your diet.
Please come with questions - What foods would you like to try? What foods do you want to learn how to prepare or cook? What foods are you missing while off of Sugar, Dairy and Grains - and what would some good substitutes be?
This week we will cover:
Vegetables, vegetables and more vegetables! Discussion on:
Leafy, crunchy and starchy veggies
Parts of the plant
Micro-nutrient and Macro-nutrient content of different veggies
Seasonal Foods
Adventurous eating
Flavors from around the World

This week’s practice:
Each day as you sit down to eat lunch and dinner, stop for a moment. Take a deep breath in and a long slow exhalation. Look at the food you are about to eat and notice how you feel about it. Take a moment to ask the food to bring you whatever nourishment you need for the day.
